STARS relies on Volunteers to work along side the qualified staff to assist with groups or provide direct one-to-one work with children experiencing typical grief reactions.
We recruit, train and work with volunteers who can offer support at various levels within the service. We also have some trainee counsellors who train and work with us on a work placement as part of their counselling course.

Each volunteer is expected to undergo training, work under supervision and is managed by our employed counsellors.
Each volunteer must agree to undertake enhanced CRB checks before training commences.
Volunteers who work with us do so under very strict boundaries and guidelines to protect all concerned.
